Job Summary:

Responsible for performing specialized structuring and financial modeling required to evaluate renewable asset opportunities, generating incremental Net Income for regulated utility operations. The position will be responsible for supporting the internal and external business case analysis, for the development of utility developed renewable generation, as well as acquisition of assets in various stages of development. The position will engage with various internal teams to communicate capital forecasts and financial planning.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform financial modeling and analysis of renewable generation procurement opportunities, including utility developed and project acquisitions, to generate incremental Net Income for regulated operations, support enterprise targets and other corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Support the evaluation of assets via utility developed opportunities, acquisitions, and through Request for Proposals (RFP), to achieve internal capital approval milestones.
  • Support Business Unit financial planning and reporting, maintaining capital budgets and communicating planning and forecasts with team Finance liaisons.
  • Support coordination with various internal teams, such as Regulatory, Rates and Integrated Resource Planning, to generate economic and revenue requirements analysis, and communicate market availability of assets, to support continued expansion of renewable procurement opportunities.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Accounting or Engineering and one (1) or more years of work-related experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Business Administration or Science
  • Knowledge and understanding of the regulated franchised electric industry
  • Understanding of regulated utility financial operations including rate making, capital and cost recovery
  • Working knowledge of generation resource planning
  • Energy industry trading and marketing experience
  • Wholesale customer financial analysis
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and financial evaluation skills
