Job Summary

Project Managers have technical, commercial, and scheduling responsibilities for their assigned projects and operate with a high degree of freedom with internal operations and external customers. Key responsibilities include:

The delivery of customer satisfaction through the exercise of leadership from booking of project sale to installation, commissioning and full customer acceptance of complex projects involving turbomachinery equipment and construction scope. Responsible for establishing and driving project execution strategy and ensuring communication internally and flow-down to suppliers and subcontractors, as well as periodic reporting within the organization indicating progress of project(s) and areas of concern. Management of schedule achievement and project profitability, including regular reporting to management. The successful management of large and disparate teams including engineering teams, construction contractors, and major balance of plant equipment suppliers. Responsible for the acceptability of quality and design of the equipment delivered to the customer within the confines of the contract.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate substantial knowledge of the principles relating to the design and operation of turbines and control systems, as well as thorough knowledge of principles relating to balance of plant systems design and construction.

  • Experience with commercial and contractual practices.

  • Familiar with Solar's organization and practices to direct a wide-range of activities to accomplish project requirements.

  • Willing to travel 25% to 50%.

Top Candidates Have:

  • Prior experience in a position requiring regular customer contact and interface.

  • Experience in the specification and design of balance of plant systems for gas compression and/or power generation systems.

  • Experience in the development and management of fabrication and/or construction contracts.
