Field Service Representative Engineer Netherlands

We are looking for a dynamic team player, with technical know-how and high flexibility, very customer-oriented, ready to take on an ambitious challenge in a multinational, industry-leading company headquartered in San Diego (USA), to become part of TURBOMACH Netherlands B.V., and thus a part of Solar Turbines, the leading manufacturer of combined heat and power systems based on modern industrial gas turbines, world's leading manufacturer of industrial gas turbines in the 1 to 39 megawatt range.
Today over 16,000 of our systems are in use in more than 100 countries with over 3 billion operating hours. Solar is a leading provider of energy solutions with a full range of gas turbine powered compressors, mechanical power units and power generator sets.
Our service teams looks after over 300 systems in Northern Europe.

This position is a combination of technical responsibility with administrative duties where you perform preventive maintenance, technical inspections, overhauls, turbine repair services and turbine replacements at customer sites in Netherlands and Belgium and there where needed. This position also includes on-call services for solar gas turbine units and specific troubleshooting interventions when required.

This specialist represents the contact between Solar and the customer on site and takes on the following tasks:
• Understands and implements Solar Turbines and customer HSSE policies and procedures. Ensures that the work permit system is adhered to. Ensures a secure location and procedures.
• Attends or chairs general safety and occupational safety meetings and completes all required safety training and suggests security improvements.
• Knows procedures for identifying sources of information and technical recommendations but can also argue and judge independently.
• Maintains product knowledge sufficiently to enable repair and adjustment of mechanical, electrical, electronic and control equipment/process systems.
• Is able to read and use applicable drawings, lattice logic diagrams and technical manuals.
• Contacts OEMs and external resources to resolve issues.
• Must be able to proactively identify electrical/mechanical anomalies and potential safety issues and take appropriate action to prevent a serious safety hazard from developing and equipment from being damaged.
• Demonstrates ability to take a multidisciplinary approach to rotating equipment and associated ancillary equipment, as well as maintenance, repair, commissioning and troubleshooting, and is able to work in a diverse team environment.
• Maintains sufficient records to enable appropriate technical and financial decisions to be made based on facts.

Our successful candidate:

• You have technical electrical training or technical college degree and experience in this or a related industry.
• You already have experience in the field electrical and mechanical work and demonstrate the ability to use sound technical judgment to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
• You are fluent in spoken and written English and Dutch, German would be a big plus.
• You have experience in technical customer service, with a strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
• You work individually or with assigned field workers on preventative/corrective maintenance, demonstrating flexibility and autonomy.
• Willing to travel for multi-day assignments.
• Good computer skills, ideally also with programmable logic controllers such as Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley.
