The Event & Conference Services intern is a valued part of the team with meaningful assignments and responsibilities throughout their experience. The intern may be involved with short-term projects based on the current needs of the organization. The projects may be team-oriented or individually driven to give the intern an opportunity to develop a finished product and presentation near the conclusion of the internship.

Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will work alongside an experienced Event & Conference Services (E&CS) Coordinator to plan and produce on-campus meetings, events, and on-location programs attended by Company executives, management, industry peers and customers. As an intern, you may be asked to support these initiatives by handling specific aspects, or by assisting across the entire program. As you learn and gain experience, you may work independently to plan and produce meetings and events with guidance from E&CS Coordinators.

Additionally, as an intern you will work closely with a variety of internal organizations for specific needs of meetings and events; and to ensure customer and employee requirements are handled properly while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications:

Candidate must be actively pursuing their bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations, hospitality management or a related field.

  • Strong academic performance.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • Ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, business partners and team members.
  • Ability to conduct oneself with confidence and poise, even while under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to be creative and analytical.
  • Organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience using the current Microsoft Office Suite.
