Job Summary:
Brand Strategies and Campaigns is seeking a Corporate Communications Insights Analyst with the research and insights team. The ideal applicant will have a background in communications but enjoys using data and insights to drive strategy with experience in social media listening, Boolean logic, and media measurement. This role will be responsible for advancing Duke Energy Corporate Communication and Public Affairs measurement, research, and insights.
Key Skills, Abilities and Experience
Social media listening and comfort with tools like Sprinklr, Brandwatch, or Talkwalker.
Media monitoring and measurement and experience with a tool like Cision, PublicRelay, or Meltwater.
Some coding skills for data organization/analysis, Power BI, or other similar work
Experience with primary research like survey, focus groups, etc.
Data visualization
Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with machine learning and AI
Familiarity with data management tools
Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to build, develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and resolve issues as needed
Ability to work and make decisions independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Experience with search analysis and measurement
Experience with website measurement
Responsibilities
Assisting with key measurement reports, such as: monthly analytics dashboard, issues/crisis social & traditional media reporting, weekly social media report outs, etc.
Advertising measurement & reporting, such as: integrating with agencies of choice to ensure appropriate and meaningful KPIs are measured and integrated into the larger program, working with primary research to better understand advertising effectiveness as it pertains to business outcomes, building and maintaining internal measurement program including web measurement, internal email metric implementation and execution, integration into the larger measurement program, and industry trend identification and reporting.

Communications Manager
Bachelorβs degree in public relations, communications, journalism or other related degree
In addition to bachelor's degree, two (2) years minimum of related work experience
In lieu of bachelor's degree AND two (2) years minimum of related work experience listed above, high school diploma/GED AND six (6) years minimum of related work experience
Senior Communications Manager
Bachelorβs degree in public relations, communications, journalism or other related degree
In addition to bachelor's degree, five (5) years minimum of related work experience
In lieu of bachelor's degree AND five (5) years minimum of related work experience listed above, high school diploma/GED AND nine (9) years minimum of related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Prior experience using social listening tools such as Sprinklr, Brandwatch, or Talk
Prior experience using media monitoring and measurement tools such as Cision, PublicRelay, or Meltwater.
Experience using data analysis to support communications strategy
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, as well as SharePoint and PowerBI
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated effective conflict management and negotiating skills
Demonstrated ability to work self-directed and be a team player
Demonstrated ability to strategically plan communications that are tied directly to measurable business results
Highly motivated individual who can follow through and work with minimal direct supervision

Working Conditions
Position will be based at the Duke Energy Plaza in Charlotte, NC
2-3 days per week in office
Hybrid mobility classification - work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to Duke Energy Plaza
