Position Summary:

Contract and Compliance Support (CCS) is part of the Commercial Central Support team within the Commercial Trading organization. CCS is responsible for documenting the commercial trading commodity activity as well as logistic transactions, managing the related contract process and monitoring associated compliance matters. The successful candidate will pay great attention to detail and will continually advance in their ability to evaluate contractual content and ensure all contracts are approved and documented appropriately.

*This position is a part of a job family with multiple levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes logistic, terminalling and storage agreements for form and content for multiple lines of business for the various commercial logistics and strategy departments within Commercial Trading. Evaluates contractual content of proposals; provides interpretation of contract language; drafts internal contracts.

  • Collaborate closely with the logistics commercial development business negotiator to pair commercially negotiated terms with the appropriate contractual terms; track and communicate the legal and contractual requirements of logistics agreements to the logistics commercial development business negotiators.

  • Coordinates and engages in cross-organizational communications with other operating departments such as Law and Title & Contract to ensure contracts meet legal requirements, are in compliance with company policies and are documented appropriately.

  • Reduces risk by ensuring contract templates and terms and conditions are reviewed by the appropriate subject matter experts.

  • Prioritize business needs while keeping legal and risk considerations in mind.

  • Prepares and distributes reports to internal/external stakeholders relative to contract status and various related matters; interfaces with internal and external stakeholders and responds to research and contract status inquiries as directed.

  • Drives change to the contract process that improves organization and process control; develops contract strategies and philosophies for the full variety of contractual requirements.

  • Handles distribution of contracts to appropriate parties for review, approval and execution.

  • Identify and execute projects that streamline the Contract Management process.

  • Communicate regularly with Trading personnel and Business Development Advisors on support and optimization functions.

  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Bachelor’s degree in law or other business-related function is preferred.

  • 3 years of relevant experience is required. Experience in law, supply chain, scheduling, or other commercial organization preferred.

  • This position will require up to 10% of travel.
